Title: Contribution to the OECD Test Guideline Development by Refinement and International Dissemination of the Pig-a Assay Protocols/ JEMS Encouragement Award 2025
Presentation Number: EA-2
Presentation Summary
The Pig-a assay is an in vivo mutation assay that evaluates Pig-a mutations by measuring the expression of the CD59-anchored protein on the surface of red blood cells. Thanks to the contributions of the researchers who developed the assay and the participants in the JEMS/MMS collaborative study, this assay is now listed as OECD Test Guideline No. 470. This achievement was made while affiliated with Teijin Pharma Limited. The researcher was awarded the Encouragement Award for her contributions to the development of the OECD Test Guideline.
– Refining and standardizing the protocols used in the JEMS/MMS collaborative study
– International dissemination of MMS collaborative research through the establishment and publication of standard protocols
Axcelead’s Solution
At Axcelead, we offer various in vitro exploratory genotoxicity screenings and in vivo evaluations. For screening assays, we provide the “miniaturized” test systems, such as an in vitro micronucleus assay using flow cytometry (MicroFlow) and a microscopic evaluation using 96-well plates.
Genotoxicity assessments are essential for not only medical candidates but also agrochemicals, chemical products, cosmetic materials, packaging materials, and functional foods. We propose suitable genotoxicity evaluation items to meet your needs. Please take this opportunity to consult with us regarding genotoxicity studies.
